How was everyone's weekend? Anything good happen?

I was so upset that we didn't get any trick or treaters :( I love seeing the little buggers all dressed up. They are so cute.

I had more trick or treaters than I expected. I ran out of candy and started giving out my granola bars. I finally had to turn out the lights and ignore the door. I had 3 or 4 times the number of kids as last year, but perhaps it's because last year Halloween fell just after the snipers were caught (I live in Montgomery County, MD) and a lot of parents kept their kids home.

Other than running to the door every 10 seconds Friday evening, my weekend was very uneventful. I managed to drag myself to the gym and the grocery store, but that's about it.

Hi,

Halloween was a bit disappointing here too -not many trick-or-treaters at all. So I've been eating leftover candy since Friday! I finally brought it to work to unload today. :-)

Saturday I went to a Mary Kay makeup day, which was fun but a little strange - they were trying to get everyone not only to buy makeup (which I expected) but also to become Mary Kay salespeople - which I didn't see coming! But, still fun. Then at my pottery class - I brought home my first pieces! One turned out great, one was blah, and one seems to have disappeared from the studio - hope it turns up next week.

Thanks for asking! :-)

I'm guilty of that same meanness! It can be fun, though, and the guys never know how mean you're being, so no harm done.

Shy,

Where are you from. There was a big party at our local Union Station of Friday night.

I had two second dates this weekend and confirmed once again that looks have very very little to do with attraction and chemistry - Friday Night Guy was far more handsome than Saturday Night Guy but there was no comparison in my attraction level for the less handsome guy. One of the things that turned me off about Friday night guy was that he called on Saturday afternoon, I was on the other line and said I would call him back - an hour later - I was in the shower - he calls AGAIN and sounds very anxious that I didn't return his call yet (huh? we didn't have plans and indeed he was leaving the next day for florida for 2 weeks, where he would have his cell he said) and said that he just called to say he had a nice time and wanted to talk to me. Red flag for me- poor judgment to call me the second time, so soon and mainly, it seemed for reassurance - what's next - five calls a day if we actually get involved? I emailed him that we probably should get in touch when he returns from Florida in 2 weeks (I wanted to think about my reaction to him on the date as well as the phone calls). Have to wonder why such a handsome/smart guy would be so needy.

Saturday Night Guy (who I met on a spiritual retreat in September) - we went to an amazing event called a "unity session" - they showed a documentary on the intersection between judaism and reggae/rastifarian culture, and the religious jewish reggae musician performed live - the crowd - huge crowd! - was awesome - age range 10-70, Black, White, religious jews, non religious jews, etc - we danced and had a great time. Wrinkle with Saturday night guy - in about 2 weeks, he will be a daddy by his ex girlfriend who he does not wish to marry (he is not in love with her) but will be an active co-parent in every way. So . . .. we are taking things slow and basically I will be so thrilled if when the baby comes he comes around and decides to marry her. She sounds like a real winner and a together lady - very accomplished in every way - I read up on her - I am keeping my head on straight and will sort of stay on the sidelines for the next number of months and would be happy to just be a friend of that is what he wants/needs - I know about him from the community and like what I know about him so far.

My newest project - cruising the dating web site for handsome senior citizens - for my mother's best friend who lost her husband last Spring. So far I emailed three potentials, one response/one rejection :-(.

Thanks for changing the topic ;-)

It was a good weekend...I sat down and drilled out my eating and workout plan for the next two weeks, managed to get a great deal at the gym around the corner from me, had lunch with a friend and dinner and a costume party with some other friends. Even got asked out on a date for Thursday night...yeehaw!

I also cooked up a storm...made 2 soups, 2 casseroles, more applesauce (still haven't figured out why I needed to pick 1 1/2 bushels of apples), did laundry, rode my bike a bit....

Quite productive. Too bad it hasn't carried over to my Monday at work ;)

well, in some circles its considered good manners to call the next day...

also, when someone says they'll call back, an hour seems like an aweful long time...
