Hey there everyone! Let me start off by telling you a bit about me.. I am 27, live in Virginia and just very recently have gotten out of a 2 year relationship.. I have been single for 3 months.. In that three months I have bought a car and a house.. So I am feeling good about that..

Being single as we all know has its ups and downs.. Its lonely, its boring.. Lots of our friends have boyfriends or husbands whatever and dont always have the time for us.. And when we do get to hang out with them, they have the cell phone on the table waiting for the man to call.. PATHETIC! THAT I dont miss at all..

I have realized its hard to meet new men that are worth my time.. Not having a lot of luck with the dating thing, BUT thats ok for now.. Its like if I have someone to at least TALK to and that is semi into me.. I feel ok.. Its like i need an ego-boost right now or something.. If I was to get into a relationship, it might not be fair to the guy? KNow what I mean :)

Well I am out of here for now.. Just wanted to introduce myself.. I am sure I will be back later tonight!! I cant wait to start reading and getting to know everyone!!

Have a great day!!

Welcome to the board! I know exactly what you mean about that cell phone thing! I'm taking graduate classes right now, and everytime the prof gives us a break, there's a scatter where everyone finds their spot and is on the phone, calling home. It's FOUR hours for goodness sake! I find it funny.

I'm glad you are enjoying your singleness for right now. It has its ups and downs, but it's life- we all have to live with it!

Just today I was wondering why I even HAVE a cell phone anymore... did I really just have it to keep in touch with my boyfriend? That was one expensive relationship!

I know EXACTLY how you feel.. I actually was on a "shared" plan with my ex.. I kept it for a few days after we broke up and then decided I would go out and get my own phone.. I emailed him to let him know and he was PISSED!! :) He told me that he was going to come by and pick it up and have the service cut off.. Funny how I still have the phone AND its still on.. I dont use it though.. I have my "new" phone which hardly ever rings! 60 Bucks a month!! UGH!!

Still have his house key AND his truck key too :)

WOO HOO!!

Welcome! I'm new here myself. I really didn't introduce myself when I first got here because my mind was preoccupied with problems....guy problems! I'm also 27 and am from New York. I just starting to look for a place of my own because my parents want to move to a retirement community. Enjoy your new home.

Welcome!! This seems to be a really good board! At least I know I am not "alone" in this whole thing anymore! My friend and I were talking tonight about how hard it is to meet quality men.. It really is.. It seems like all the guys I have met in the past month are either all into sex or into me and I am NOT into these guys at all.. Where to meet quality people? That is the question :)

I really have enjoyed having my own place though.. Yes it gets boring and lonely BUT i am not having to worry about roommates or boyfriends and its very nice to come home to a quiet house sometimes... Thats why I have a dog.. Hes my companion for now.. Until the right guy comes along and sweeps me off of my feet :)

Good luck in finding a place!!!
