Hi. I was lurking on your board and liked what I read. I post on a few of the other boards, and have had good experiences so far, and a lot of the threads here seem to echo what I think. I wanted to drop in and introduce myself before I added to any posts.
Thanks, Heather

>>I live about a two minute walk away from Brookline, so it's a cute little area

I think Boston has a higher number of younger singles because of all the schools. I probably know an equal ration or people that are in relationships, and those that aren't. I've found it can hard to met new people, but its a vibrant city to live in.
I love Brookline as well. It feels a million miles from the city.

I would have to say that President Kennedy is a more famous product of Brookline than Conan. ;)

Yes, I forgot to mention that I, too, am a Boston-area native, though I grew up on the North Shore.

Ahh, I didn't think of that! You're right, between undergrads and grad students and the lot...plus I feel like a lot of Boston residents are transplants, some temporary, for that reason, too. I feel like I hardly ever meet people in the city that are actually FROM the area. Maybe that's just me and my age group.

It's a little difficult to meet people, but I really do love the city. I'm just as in love with downtown and Back Bay and so forth, but Brookline is a nice refuge...I do most of my errands/shopping in Coolidge Corner. And it had a lot of famous former residents! :) I feel like there are more than just those two...

Oh, I love the city!! :) I don't know the North Shore very well and I didn't know it AT ALL until I dated a guy that was temporarily living in Danvers. I hated the commute to his place, haha. I'm a city girl at heart, though. I work on the Cambridge/Watertown border...I'm not a huge fan of Watertown and I don't really know Belmont, but it seems like big-time suburbia to me...
