No more baby talk!

It's been, what, a day? I'm so sick of hearing about this magical baby that's been born! I'm just not one to care about the rich and famous. There are baby shows on all day long. I avoid them, but there they are- baby, baby, baby- in the guide. I was going to go home to see my niece this week, but I knew it would throw off my diet and exercise routine once again, and I'm trying to get back on track before school starts. So I'm waiting and hopefully I can make the trip in a couple of weeks. My uterus is throbbing badly and it's really getting to me lately! They just really need to stop with the baby news and pictures!

I agree. I was watching a talk show today where they were stating how much each of the royals is worth. And of course they're advertising all these specials that are coming on about "the royal baby" Frankly I could give a rats behind about all their millions and billions and have no interests in watching all the specials. But then again there will always be people fascinated with the rich and famous that will watch all this. I say "BOOOORING" lol

Well I can't say that I got that excited about the royal baby being born, except that William and Catherine seem like a nice couple.  However, I did read a bio about Queen Elizabeth called "Elizabeth the Queen" by Sally Bedell Smith and I found it quite interesting.  It's really amazing that she's still going strong into her 80's (my mother is the same age).  You might think that her job is all going to places and cutting ribbons but it explains how she dealt with the different Prime Ministers even though the Queen must stay out of politics, and how she dealt with the leaders of the different Commonwealth countries.  She's a very smart woman.

Unfortunately, a significant segment of our society is obsessed with the Kardashians and other reality show stars who contribute nothing to society. They have no lives so are obsessed with the royal baby and other aspects of celebrity.  I call it the dumbing down of America, or Idiocracy.

I agree completely. The obsession with the British royalty has driven me crazy ever since I was old enough to read a paper or watch news on TV. It's impossible to escape the coverage sometimes since it's part of headlines or news' promos.  England should have done the world a favor and behaved like a normal country by offing the monarchy when they were done with them ruling years ago!

I'm from London, England, and I agree. I really don't give a flying *&^% whether one of those uber-spoilt mega-rich do-nothing-all-day so-and-sos has a little brat offspring or not. They should try spending a week the way we, normal people, do here in London, stuck on a bus when it's 30C outside on the way to a pub where a glass of wine costs about £6 which we don't have. Well the 30C is a miracle and we're very grateful  to the lords of good weather Smile, but you know what I mean.

We have a monarchy where I´m from, and I love our Royal family! :-) We did of course read and hear about the new baby in England, but I have to say it was not really that much in the media as one could expect.
