So, Mr Bass Player has now seen me in a bikini.... Yikes! I deeply hate wearing a bikini, always have and always will. But, it was very hot yesterday and my next door neighbour and I went to the beach. We planned to go for a swim or two in the lake, so bikini it was. Arriving at the beach and finding a nice spot, the first one we saw just a few meters in front of us is him. Wearing only a pair of shorts (mmmm), reading and listening to his Ipod. However, he does not appear to see us and we do not go up to him and start talking (finding it a bit awkward, as we do not know him that well).
After a while we really need to cool down and jump into the lake. Suddenly we can see him swimming too, just very near the shore unlike us. Perhaps he did see us and that we tempted him to try the water? ;-) Anyway, we get back to our spot and after an hour or so, he leaves. Passing us, this is when we say hi (still drying up after the swim). And that´s it. I hate the thought that he has now seen me in a tiny bikini, very un-tanned (practically white as an eggshell) and especially my belly fat and huge thighs! My neighbour was tanned after a week in Cannes, and she is much slimmer than me. Aaarrrrgh! But there is nothing I can do about that, and at least I smiled broadly to him to compensate, hahaha!
Anyhow, he had seen us completely dressed the day before (LOL), as we went to a cafe where one of his bands had a matine concert. Could not actually see him play, being stuck in a corner. But we did say hi and he passed us a few times.
My neighbour has talked to him more than I have, as she has met him several times on the bus etc. She says that he must be very shy indeed, as he does not talk much. But he talked a good deal when I met him during the summer! :-)
I wouldn't worry about the bikini too much. I find that the stuff about our bodies that drives us bonkers often goes unnoticed by men or they don't think it's that big of a deal.
So when do you think you'll see him again?

If you ever read Vogue, the models in the ads are all of a paler complexion. I prefer that look over the "Guido" and "Guidette" look which, seems to be so popular lately. Maybe it's just me . . .
I have to laugh because I saw an episode of not Jersey Shore but the spinoff that stars Snooki--well her friend got a spray tan & forgot to take off her socks so 1/2 of her feet were white while the rest of her feet & body were that orangy fake tan color.
CFK, I was alone when talking to him (and I had to contact him first, he did not appear to see me). Not literally alone though, as we were in a crowded café and a friend of my Mum´s was sitting on the other side of the table. He was easy to talk to this winter too (late at night, after-party - what we call a "nachspiel"), when the others were out smoking and we were the only ones in the room.
I always seem to forget that guys can have "body issues" too.... He is tall and very skinny, not a muscle man. I find that very attractive.
I am Nordic, so a pale complexion is after all normal. Long winters and short summers! And after this rainy summer one cannot be expected to have a natural tan either (unless having been abroad). But, preferring not to scare people off with being too white!
However, that spray tan thingy and being almost orange is not pretty IMHO. Cannot understand why the young girls wish to look like that...
Lady Bookworm (love your nick! I am a bookworm too, always have been!), I had not thought of that. We are also the same age, whereas my neighbour is 11 years older than us. But best not to analyze anything, one never knows what´s going on in other people´s minds.... Have no idea when I see him again! But, as his garage is right outside my kitchen window, there is always the chance of running into him when going out. And of course, checking out when his next concert is. I know there is one in the end of August.
