Oprah and Intention and singledom...

Okay folks.

I was watching Oprah on Dr.Oz and she says she does nothing without "intention" ..So I am t hinking that in 2012 if we dont want to be single then I am assuming we have to create the intention of not wanting to be single and work from there.

This to me means putting out all of the stops to find someone whether it be multiple dating sites, singles events, speed dating, networking. hanging out where opposite sex goes , sports bars, etc.etc.etc...

This morning I asked a fellow friend on facebook if he knew any single normal men .. He is about my age so he might know single normal men.. So that was my first attempt at the intention.

Any thoughts???

I get what you are saying and do believe it to a certain degree but it sounds like if I just sit around and wait for Mr. Right he will appear or a job or whatever??

What I'm saying is that setting the goal, releasing your attachment to if/when/how/whom it comes from, and just going with life's flow IS the answer.

I have to laugh about The Secret reference. It's true: the book (and others like it) instruct you to visualize, leave room in your closet for a man, make a vision board, etc. I think it's really pretty silly. Again, I'm not knocking intention (and releasing the outcome), but I think when we drill down to worrying about the space in our closet that it's gone too far.

It reminds me of a scene from a Woody Allen movie, I think it was Annie Hall. They were at a very hip, crowded LA house party, and there was a hilarious little throw-away in the scene. One of the male characters is on the phone, apparently speaking to his spirutal guru and says, "I forgot my mantra," as if he'd be lost without it. That's how I feel about The Secret.

I'm all for thinking positively but if it worked all the time, I'd have a BF by now & be rich too.
