OT: Who Are You!?

That's what I said to myself this morning after I went to renew my driver's license.  It doesn't even look like the person that I *think* I see in the mirror much less, the person I see in my head.  I hated my last one so badly, that I spent two hours getting prepared (yes, I'm that vain) and even went and bought fake eyelashes for the first time in my life.

I've realised that it's my smile that I detest.  I have huge lips and a broad smile but my palette is narrow so if I smile too broadly, I get the Rachel Ray slash Joker smile.  Ugh.  Two hours down the drain.  I even practiced in the mirror before I left!  I had it down to a science; a half grin with a tiny bit of teeth showing.  What did I do when I sat down for the picture?  I smiled as broadly as I could!  LOL!

I still have my license from 15 years ago.  I look almost nothing like that 20-something.  Aging is so much fun, I tell you!

On the brighter side, I was only there for about an hour and I sat down next to a Chatty Kathy who had some interesting stories to share.

Has anyone here ever been happy with their DL picture??????

On a side note, Happy Thanksgiving everyone.  Be well and stay safe.

I live in MA and just got mine renewed, and was thrilled they could use the same picture.  The last one I had taken was just over 5 years ago, but my skin is clear and just slightly tan, and my hair looks good.  I also remember being so happy that day, and I think it shows.  So glad I get another 5 years with that picture.

My passport picture is disastrous, and I look very heavy with ridiculous hair.  But that one is up for renewal in 2013. As much as I don't want to pay the fee, I am looking forward to getting a new passport photo.  I hate having them taken, but really, nothing can be worse than the one I have now.

I like my DL picture. I think it captured my personality, easy-going and unassuming. I didn't do anything for it. In reality though I do need to fix up my hair which is always a challenge since it's too thin for my big sorta shapeless face.

Well, RR, despite her joker smile is still very cute. Maybe you're too critical of yourself.
