Overqualified for love??

Since I've been thinking of applying to PhD programs, this sort of thing has piqued my interest...it's sad that many women feel becoming further educated might hinder their ability to meet men, while if a man has a PhD or MBA or MD or whatever, it automatically makes him more appealing.

I have to say, that even though my education isn't quite what yours will be (I have a master's degree), I'm the one, not the guys, who has an issue with the difference in education levels. I'll only date guys who at least have college degrees, because I feel I have more in common with them and want to date my intellectual equal. I'm sure some people will think this makes me a snob, but that's just my preference.
Ahh, what mine MIGHT be.

I do think I'm at a disadvantage because I am not of average intelligence, but I think that it mostly has to do with the things I pick up on.
But then having some bimbo swoon over you doesn't really build your ego, does it? It takes a smart and beautiful woman to truly make you feel the love.
If there was (somewhere on this planet) an intelligent woman who would laugh at your jokes, marvel at your wit, wisdom and knowledge, and swoon over your good looks...well then it might actually be true! ;)
Hope
I think it's the "Dr." title that might bother people.
Honestly, I do want to be with someone who is equally educated, and I know there are men out there who feel the same. I don't easily consider dating a man without at least a BA degree, but I am not closed to the idea. My preference is someone with masters or more. If a guy has a BA degree only, then he also must have major hobbies and interests, something he knows a lot about and is even passionate about. If a guy does not have even a BA degree I *may* consider him, still, if he is ambitious, successful in a unique way, has strong passions and hobbies, overall, making a difference in this world. I look at the whole person, not just the education factor. But I still sway towards wanting someone who has an advanced degree. I haven't met a guy without at least a BA degree in a long long time, though. It's more rare these days, don't you think?
>>Stupid people show up at every educational level. ((-:
Yes, I agree.

Ahh, not in Boston.
