I hear ya. Leaving that world was difficult for me, it was one of the most difficult periods of my life; the most difficult, probably. I'm better adjusted now, and I'm still young (I mean, it's only been a little over a year) and many of my friends are single and childless, so it is easier, but all I have the energy to do when I get home from work (often after five thousand errands anyway) is eat, laze around, and sleep. Weekends are often left to catching up on whatever I didn't have time to do during the week.
I think it's great that you guys organize that time to get together though. :)
I go back to my classroom when the principal of the school where I interviewed OVER A MONTH AGO gets off her rusty-dusty to call me and let me know if I have the job or not. (no, I'm neither bitter nor annoyed. ;-) )
I left Texas about 3 years ago. Right now, I'm on the other side of recovering from being sick, so I'm more healthy than I was about a year and a half ago.

That's just wrong.
