I found out yesterday that my mom came home last weekend to find my 14 year old sister drunk.

Now days this is more coomn than you think. Its only been 5 years since i graduated but it seems that kisd are doing things that we would have never thought about doing. Honestly i'm glad to hear that she was only drinking and not doing drugs as well. My mom has had a hard time w/ my 15 yr old brother and his friends using drugs. My advice would be to keep a close watch on her and let her know that she has lost a lot of trust and respect, that always did it for me. It takes a lot to get that back!!
Good luck w/ your sister

Wow, that brings back memories. I was that kid in high school. Then again, I went to an affluent school where that was just what went on. When someone's parents went out of town, there was bound to be a house party.

Your concern is understandable. But I would watch her and see how it goes before getting too worked up. Maybe the hangover she had will be enough to keep her from drinking. It didn't work for me. I can still hit the bottle pretty hard, though I am currently on the wagon. While I am certainly not an alcoholic, I do have a strange relationship with the drink and one that I and my family monitor. I think I mentioned in another thread that almost all of my mom's siblings are alcoholivs, so my mother gets concerned.
