I'm trying to be on a positive thinking kick this week.

I'm impressed that you cared enough to figure out the days. There's a lesson I'm supposed to teach where we figure out how many days/hours/seconds we've been alive, but it's too advanced for my grade level.

Anyway...I do believe positive thinking makes a difference, but not in the bright, sunshiney way people think. I don't think you have to ignore the negative in order to think positively. For example, my class was way too talkative today. Some were downright rude. The weather is changing, which seems to make them worse. It's an everyday thing for some of them, though. But I go into every single day expecting things to improve. That THIS time, me telling them to respect their classmates and work quietly will work. It rarely does, but I still think it will at some point.

I think thinking positively about the future while being realistic about the present is important to our sanity.

Oh, and if it makes you feel any better, I was totally wearing mismatched clothes today and didn't realize it until I was almost home! I have a lot of trouble telling the difference between navy and black (and some blues and purple) and should have checked the label this morning, but didn't!

I so love everyone's responses to you Marina..

I have to agree with Reeshi about the cancer and the food shortages.... I do believe that there is a cure for cancer but there is so much money made on chemotherapy and radiation and ways to fight cancer that the nation does not want to find a cure...

If you know Dr.Mercola he had a whole article on why Steve Jobs could have been saved from cancer along with Patrick Swayze and the others.....

As far as food in this country... There is so much food that gets thrown away that if I found it I could feed billions of people. So its not your fault or anyone on here who should feel bad for starving people.. The govts. keep them starving for a purpose. It is so sad and my heart breaks but we cannot do anything about it... I do see some good in the world though... with food pantries and other things.

When I did my walkathon we had bags of food that was donated leftover...So me and my sis gave it to some people who would give it to homeless people..I also befriended a girl who;s dad had ALS and I helped her friend my sis.. My sis is the patient coordinator at ALS... Now she can speak directly to my sis with no middle man..There must have been a reason I met her that day. It was funny cause I was working the pumpkin patch and she and her two small daughters came to look at the pumpkins. . We struck up a conversation and I led her to find solutions to her dad;s problems..So its those small t hings we do each and every day for others that count the most.

I think that's a really good attitude to have--most of us won't have the opportunity to change the world in a big way, all we can do is little things, but we can make a difference in one person's life.

You know, I know a woman who had a dark bedroom, too, and couldn't tell navy from black easily.

I'd just settle to be Jane right now. :smileywink:

The worst part about the clothing malfunction was that the tights were brand new and clearly said "navy" on them.

I seriously have days when I wouldn't mind being a housewife.
