I was just wondering who is single by choice or who is single by circumstance.

I'm single by choice and circumstance. I chose to be single and I'm happy being single because I needed to learn to be independent and a "strong" woman. I think I'm at the point where I could be in a very successful LTR leading to marriage... but I haven't found the right guy. I haven't been on a date in 1.5 years. I'm doing some OLD but haven't actually met anyone yet.

But then I'm also young (23) so I've still got plenty of time.

I'm recently single by choice. I'm actively dating, but like so many of you, refuse to settle for just anyone. I'm 30 years old and am looking for a life partner and to have kids, hopefully before I'm 35.

I see the real value of singlehood, though. You have so much freedom and really get to find out about who you are, build and pursue your own interests and all kinds of friendships without having to answer to anyone. Being single is an investment into your future just like being in a relationship is.

For me, I hope singlehood will be temporary, but I'm planning to enjoy every second of the wild, fun ride! :)

Circumstance, and my refusal to settle.

AJ, enjoying life with C.
