Have any of you met a guy that you got along with well and you find attractive until you discover he's shorter than you?

Yes, and it's a bummer. I sometimes kick myself for feeling this way, but I do like a man to be at least my height (I'm 5'10").

I agree it may seem trivial or superficial, but it does make me uncomfortable.

I am 5' 11" tall, and the best relationship I have had so far in my life, was with a man who was 5' 6", almost half a foot shorter than I am.

Yes, unfortunately, this happens to me a lot. The key phrase in your post is what I always feel -- "feel like a giant." It's really difficult to feel feminine and cute when a guy is significantly shorter than me. I usually end up feeling clunky and gawky like I did when I was 13. :)

AJ, enjoying life with C.

When Al Pacino (5'6") walks into a room, he dwarfs everyone else. Most vertically challenged men, unlike him, do not have the presence to make up for their heights. If a guy is supremely confident in himself- just exudes that confidence, and even makes self deprecating jokes about his height, most wouldn't notice how tall(short) he his. Confidence and humor go a long way. Unfortunately V.C. men tend to be extra self conscious making the height problem worse.

Welcome !

In defense of "short" men ( I am average):

1. They are stable. A lower center of gravity means they don't get easily knocked down.

2. They are agile. Less body mass means they can move quickly

3. They are 'well grounded'

4. They are more 'down to earth'

5. Less likely to die of cancer. Bigger bodies mean more cells. More cells mean a higher likelihood of one of them turning cancerous.

6. They age slower. Less wear and tear on their bodies as they burn fewer calories

7. Because their penises (penii ?) are closer to their hearts and thus blood can be transfered quickly , they get easily aroused and have longer lasting and stiffer erections...and possibly bigger. Combine this with their agile movement, and there you have it.( This is my theory)

8. They exhale less carbon dioxide and so contribute less to global warming (again my theory)

I am sure I missed a few..

I'm about 5'10 and also would feel uncomfortable dating a shorter guy. I could probably deal with an inch shorter, but anything more significant would be awkward. I dont ask for a 6'5 guy... just as tall as me (I dont mind if I'm taller with heels!) But having to bend down to kiss a guy just doesnt sit well with me. It loses all attraction. I've dated guys I wasnt attracted to (since so many people have said to give them a chance) but it doesnt work for me. That isnt to say it wont work for you... some people grow attraction for people. I just do not seem to be one of them! Granted there have been a few guys that were super cute and I totally would have been crushing on if they weren't half a foot shoter than me, but thats my loss and the petite girls' gain ;) The taller they are, the sexier they become to me :) Sorry if that offends people!

I wouldn't date a woman shorter than 5'10", preferably 5'11" and up with at least 3 to 3.5 ft of legs and a blond top. I love legs. I love legs with flawless silky smooth creamy skin. I love looking them up and down, or side to side depending on whether they are vertical or horizontal. I love touching them, feeling them and tracing my fingers end to end. Legs are the pathway to paradise.

A woman is in essence a pair of legs, along with a few bonus accessories mounted on top.

Sometimes we just need to adjust and get used to new things.

As we all know, masculinity is more than just height, although being taller is a turn on.
