The quality I noticed about the men you are attracted to are men who are not emotionally available (something I posted before).
Well, Mark, that would make sense except I myself am highly successful and highly intelligent.
My take is that if the guy is highly successful and intellectual that means he is driven, not emotionally open, in his head, more than in his heart and does not have time for meaningful relationships.
Your standards of not dating down focuses you on a certain type of man and probably a reaction to not wanting to have another step father type in your life.
However that precludes other kinds of men that may be more likely to have time and emotional openness for you.
You may be onto something if your unconscious is focused that way because you yourself is not emotionally available as well.
