Rejection packs less of a sting...

Since I started going to meetup groups for singles last fall (only non-alcohol ones---there are already enough that do drink-a-thons), getting rejected by women on OLD inherently packs less of a sting now.

Instead of feeling sorry for myself when I scroll down the page and see how many women don't want to hear from me, I feel sorry for them.

Why? Because when I scroll through one of those dating sites, I see a gallery of future cougars. Today's cougars are women who were once "hot" and they knew it, and they farted and f***ed around and played games when men really needed love, and eventually men started avoiding them. Some men even moved overseas, married native women, and lived happily ever after.

So... now when I'm at a singles meetup having fascinating conversations with some of the women there, I think about the ones who aren't there because they're playing games and they probably don't want to face the fact that the only bridges they're burning are their own.

Don't be one of those women!!!

Marty... You always sound so bitter and sometimes judgmental. I really hope you aren't that way in person or you're going to run those women off pronto. Just something to think about.

I think you could turn this around to a more positive message by saying that now that you have found some meetup groups and are meeting interesting people IRL that you don't have as much of a need to waste your time doing OLD because you are going out & having fun--I know that's how I feel.

Now I don't know how old you are but when you refer to "future cougars" I assume that the women you are talking about are young--so are you young, or are you one of those middle aged men who thinks that women 20 yrs younger are going to be interested in them?

I'm not bitter, I just have no sympathy for the mean-spirited people who knowingly play that little game. But I do feel sorry for the ones who honestly don't know any better.

As for me, OLD is nothing more that a relic of my former naivete... :smileyvery-happy:
