Resolutions Anyone?
Wed, 01-01-2014 - 1:51pm

I don't really believe in them because I always break them but every year I make at least one just for the fun of it.  Resolutions for 2014 are:

#1 (this one I make every year but always fail) Quit Smoking

#2 Once I quit smoking....exersise more

#3 Bite my tongue at work....bad habit of saying what I think about company policies and the overall crappy way our company is ran

#4 Not giving MB the satisfaction that he gets to me

#5 To accomplish #4 I need to date more

Speaking of date on Sunday was not bad.  Nice guy, good conversation, but unfortunately the attraction is not there on my side.  He would like to go out again and I may just to see after if I feel it could ever be anything more.  Not looking for anything more at this moment but I also don't want to waste time for either one of us.  Been talking with another guy and we are going to try and meet up after work either tomorrow or Friday.  Another nice guy with whom I had a good telephone conversation with.

And speaking of MB we talked two times Monday, both conversations lasting 2 hours.  Don't know how we have so much to talk about but we do.  But during the last call he was pretty drunk and said some things that kind of ticked me off and he kept talking about his ex gf so I gave it back and started about my dates but he obviously did not like that and would immediately change the topic.  He actually called me this morning to see if I was mad because I didn't make any contact with him yesterday and he remembers "pushing my buttons". I felt like asking him why he does that but to accomplish #4 above I just said I wasn't mad and pretty much had ignored everything he was saying during the call. No sense giving him the satisfaction that he did push my buttons.  A definite step in the right direction for me.

2014.....a promising New Year, or another let down?  Time will tell.

I don't really make NY resolutions either--I figure any time is a good time to start a positive change and why not do it when you feel like you can accomplish something rather than an arbitrary date?  Of course the 2 things I should work on are eating healthier (which is hard to do when I have a bunch of candy and a chocolate cake in my house from the party, and working harder on finding a new job--I get motivated, send out a bunch of applications and then when I don't hear anything, I lose interest.

Hehe, I could have said Working out and Being healthier, as that certainly is something I should improve! However, I will rather try harder at being more social and going out more. Hopefully meeting new friends, as I don´t see my existing ones too often. And travelling by myself if noone else (except my parents) will join. I will do "volunteering" from March, as our city´s new Cultural Center is opening then and I have signed up for working there (for free) on my free time. In time, I am crossing my fingers to get a job there. It is definitely within my field of interests, with choir, concerts, theater etc etc. First of all, I signed up to help and to experience all the new things going on where I live. And to meet others!
