Returning to this board after years away

Just popped in to see if this board is still as active as it was 3 years ago when I last posted here. I'm glad to see it is! Let me reintroduce myself to everyone....I'm 35, living in the DC area working for the federal govt and I'm still single after all these years. In my 3 years away from the board I had a relationship of about 9 months, another of about 2 weeks and a 2 month one that never had any hope of succeeding because I was on a short term overseas assignment.

Anyway, I'm usually content to be single and I'm not actively searching for anyone, but right about now I wish I had someone in my life....but it's mainly because I need help dealing with a back injury. I hate having to repeatedly ask my neighbor or friends to drive me around (I even took myself to the ER on Monday because I didn't want to bother anyone, but then had to call my neighbor to come get me). I'm now under doctor's orders for at least another week of bedrest and it's boring and lonely. Now would be a good time to not be single! I have to ask others to get me food and take me to appointments. It'd be nice to have someone around who I could always count on for those things!

I don't mean to sound depressed, I'm generally content with my life, but going through a rough patch right now.

And, on a final note...hello to anyone who was around when I was last here!

Yeah- we've had a lot of lessons in "report and ignore" over the past year or so.

Thanks....the steriods are starting to help some, so I'm hoping I won't get to the point your sister was at! I can now pick up the cat dishes without having to use my toes (although I was quite impressed with that skill, I must say), so that's an improvement....straightening back up is still a problem though!

A couple of my friends realized how rough this has been so I got a call an hour or so ago saying that they's be over at 4:30 with pizza and movies. It'll be good to have some company, although I'm not sure eating pizza while on steriods and barely moving around is the best move, but it might make me feel better!
