I saw this initially on the Today Show, so read the original article written by Samantha Brick, a British woman who says she has suffered because she is "too beautiful" and that women are jealous of her.

Oh, whaaa, I say. But I've just got to say: I don't consider her beautiful. Perhaps she doesn't photograph well, but I'm just not seeing it. She is blonde, but her hair is not exceptional. She has taken a lot of heat for her article.

I think men do see beauty differently.

I've seen men going crazy over blonde women I personally found relatively ordinary (I mean the facial features). I guess if these same women had dark hair, it wouldn't be the same at all.

I'm a brunette and it seems that men who were into me actually preferred brunettes, to the point that if I mentionned dying my hair into a lighter colour, they would object. To each each own...

As for Samantha, I guess men see beauty differently....

I'm curious.

We didn't talk about the body, but he said that her face was symmetrical and don't remember what else, but that he has seen prettier. And he mentionned the "blond effect".

Well, I think that her body is pretty average, I don't think there's anything special to pay attention to.

My first thought when I saw the pictures was "is that a joke" ? Then I remembered that beauty is really in the eye of the beholder. When I was a teen, I had 2 friends for whom the boys would go ga-ga over (and men too). In my opinion, they were just a little bit better than ordinary, that there were so many more good looking girls out there and I sincerely couldn't understand why. They were both really nice, but guys would fall for them without knowing them at all. I have one of them in my facebook, haven't seen her for years, but looking at her picture, I still don't understand why.

Another thing is that she might not be very photogenic, she does look better in the video.

And I think most men go crazy over blonds in general. Even if she has a relatively ordinary face.

I do find it amazing that people would pay for her right and left, but maybe in Europe men are just more generous. I can't picture men in Montreal doing that, but then, maybe I'm just not good-looking enough lol. I did get free drinks from a barman in a big club in Miami just this week, but it doesn't happen usually.

If she lives in France, well, men there are also more agressive when they want to get a woman's attention and I think they are less difficult when it comes to be attracted to a woman. I remember seeing a French show about beautiful women who purposely make themselves look less attractive to avoid men's attention and to tell you honestly, while they were attractive, I really couldn't undestand what was there to hide. Whereas many men in North America wouldn't do anything even if they are attracted to a woman, unless she's really pretty.

I totally believe that many other women would feel jealous of her if they find her attractive. So many people can't control their insecurities. For instance as someone who is thin, I've felt jealousy from women who were self-conscious about their weight.

I don't think I'd call her beautiful either.

I agree--I would describe her as attractive but not beautiful and who knows what her personality is like?
