Tonight I got a little misdirected on my way to the restaurant we were meeting at.

Wow, that is scary. I'm glad you got out of that unscathed.

When you go out tonight, you should consider carrying a sign that says something like: Taking applications for boyfriend. Must double as body guard. I'll bet you'll at least talk to a lot of people. :-)

Stay safe. Cities large and small can be scary for a woman traveling alone.

Oh, Shy, I'm sorry that happened. That's totally freaky - and there are some scary people out there these days. I'm really glad you didn't open your window or door.

Yes, I think we single women are more cautious -- and with good reason. Better safe than sorry - and it is nice to have a strong man around for security. I do miss that.

What a jerk!! So sorry that happened, people are AWFUL when they drive!!

My friends and I went to a hockey game this weekend and the arena is located in southwest Chicago. Its not the greatest area in the downtown. After, we usually catch the bus but one of the gals, who is kind of a priss, insisted on waiting for a cab. We walked and waited for over an hour after the game in the cold. Ummm yeah...walking around the ghetto isn't the smartest thing in the world. I was really irritated but we did eventually find one. This one mentally ill homeless dude was yelling at cars trying to "help" us out...

And you know the worst part?? There were about 5 groups of all men waiting for a cab too. And here we are 3 women...and who got the cabs first? Thats right, the men. What happened to chivalry? Oh you ladies take this one, we can wait for the next, need to be sure you're safe....nope not so much...grrr.

AND I yelled at them "So what ever happened to chivalry gentleman?" I think they yelled the F-bomb back at me.

What kind of man tells a lady to f off??

Ya know, men suck. I have a good one, thank god, but they do...they suck.

I do get the feeling that some men have no respect at all for women anymore. It's also a group mentality at work (and perhaps alcohol) when they start yelling things like that at you. It does get me down, but thankfully there are good men out there (like yours, it sounds like) who make up the difference.

Don't be hatin' sisters!!! Not all guys run women off the road and drop the f-bomb. I actually held the door open for a woman just last year. ;) I figured her elderly mother was on her own. (Give me a break, she could have used the automatic door opening button thingy.) Besides, the little girl in the stroller could have gotten out and held the door. What do I look like, a butler???
