This is a good question. I am tempted to say that sex appeal is dependant on the person who is attracted to them. I like manly men. There is something about a man who works with his hands, wears jeans and tees that fit well and knows how to fix anything. Yet has a little bit of a goofy sense of humor and a little bit clueless about how sexy they really are. But in general, I think confidence is universally the best se appeal.
I'm just dropping in for a sec and this caught my attention...just like there are many different types of ppl out there, they are many different preferences. Think of the women who is "borderline" gay...I have two friends like that - one male and one female. They act, talk and SEEM like the stereotypical gay person yet continue to be heterosexual. I could see my female friend being very attracted to a "girlish" man...or my male friend being attracted to "butchy" women (tho everyone thought he had a crush on me so I wonder what that says about me, LOL).
Just like "girlish" men are no the marjority - neither are those who would find them attractive. I prefer manly features: stuble, square jaw, etc...but I prefer "girlish" personality - men who talk about their feelings and are sensitive.
But I honestly think pheromones play a HUGE part in this bc the 5 men I've ever loved - I loved their smell. When they came home from work all sweaty - I thought it was sexy. I never EVER smelled their "BO"...or bad morning breath. For some reason, I couldn't detect these things...yet on men I don't find sexy or attractive, I can smell them and I do NOT like it one bit!!
I remember Joe - definitely! I always thought it was amazing that non-smokers could date smokers. But then, I remember the guy I lived with for 4 yrs started out as a smoker when we met...I had forgotten that! (He quit because I'm allergic and we spent so much time together, it was becoming inconvienent. He was back up to 1 pack/day within weeks of our break up) He also had a foot smell problem. It was SO bad that when we went to visit ppl, he'd haev to leave his shoes outside AND bring a change of socks before he entered the home. Ppl used to wonder how on earth I lived with him. To be honest, I don't ever remember smelling it...LOL...
With me, it's not so much any particular thing that a guy has - it's just whether or not a guy gives me that "va-va-va-VOOM!" feeling or not.
I have yet to encounter a "girly" man with sex appeal.

Go.
Hey stranger!
I know exactly what you mean about the sweat.
That's an interesting observation about the body odor and breath.
