shoe advice for men?

Hello all wonderful women,

Please help me with a question:
I have to say that I find it very attractive when I hear the "clack clack" of a woman's shoes when she is walking along a tile or hardwood floor. It never fails to turn my head. But I think it would be a turn off for women if a guy has shoes with leather soles that make a similar sound. So, what do you think? Is silent better for guys?

Thanks!

I have never paid much attention to the sound that men's shoes make. The only time I can recall it having an effect on me was when the SVP of the bank I worked at walked into the breakroom. It was a signal that he was coming and the other girls would shut up right quick. Me, I was never intimidated by the man, worked under and beside him a few times, and actually got along quite well with him. So it made me laugh at their reaction.

I pay far more attention to the quality, cleanliness and care of a man's shoe than the sound.

I just have to say that the first post I remember making here was about men's shoes.

I don't think the leather soles make the click-clack sound. On my shoes, it is the leather uppers on "man-made" soles that click-clack. The jazz shoes I've had and the dance shoes I have now, both soled in leather, are silent or make a quiet "patting" sound.

Guys' shoes don't make the click-clack sound that I can think of... maybe it is the difference in size/shape. Maybe some shoe cobbler, years ago, thought it would be safer if he could hear his wife walking down to his shop before he could see her and put click-clacking soles on her shoes!

I do know that I don't like it when guys scuff their heels when they walk (and women too). Pick up your feet!... as my mother would say.

Personally, sound does not matter to me. It's how the shoe looks (which includes fit - nobody wants to see those bunions sticking out - hee). As a matter of fact, shoes are really important to me for some reason. I would never refuse to date a man with ugly shoes but I am definitely attracted to a nice pair of Ferragamos. I think it's just that I appreciate style.
