Shy, I have a driving story for you!

Tonight I was driving home from work on the highway, and I saw a pickup truck pass me on the left. The back of the truck was all filled with "stuff" - probably someone moving. Anyway, one of the items that was jammed in the back was a lawn mower. The lawn mower was tipped over sideways so the metal handle part that you push was sticking out the side of the truck a good 3 feet. All I could think of was if the driver got to close to a car to his/her left without "thinking" of how there was an object protruding from the side of the truck (or if someone went to pass on the left and didn't realize there was an "appendage" - after all, it was getting dark out and it was raining and cloudy), the other vehicle stood a good chance of being struck by the handle of the lawn mover, at a speed of 70 MPH! I mean, I know sometimes you have to finagle stuff to fit it in, but I kind of thought this particular "arrangement" was a bit of a hazard...all I could see was an accident waiting for a place to happen.

Did you yell anything at him as you drove by?

I washed my car yesterday and noticed yet ANOTHER scuff mark in the paint.

I feel your pain - my last car was brand-new, and pretty, and I put a big scratch in it all by myself before I'd even had it a month. I was so angry with myself. And then, one morning when I still had it, someone drove into the driver's side door/fender and knocked off the mirror and ruined the whole fender and door. Hit and run. Very annoying.

My "new to me" car I just got is 11 years old, and while the paint and body are in INCREDIBLE condition for a car that old, I am thankful to be driving an older car, because I'm a klutz and I know sooner or later, I'm going to get too close to a tree or a curb...or a shopping cart. And wouldn't you know it, I've had the thing for almost two weeks now, and I haven't scuffed it at all. Of course not! Because I'm not worried about if I scuff it on something, I won't. LOL

The first flaw that I found in it was about a month or so after I bought it.

My nieces are always flinging their doors wide open. I stay on them about it but for some reason, it hasn't sunk in. I think I'm going to start parking far, far away from the other cars. I can see one of them dinging a Mercedes.

Shy I once had a black car too. There were chips and odd looking places all over the hood and someone told me that it was bug acid which was eating away at my paint. I don't know if it's true or not, but it made sense to me. I started washing it more frequently.

Remember bras for cars? They were supposed to prevent the bug problem. I rarely see those anymore. I'm getting major 90's flashbacks now.

This is an "old man and the road" story:

Yesterday morning I'm driving to work and get to the intersection right before the parking lot. There are 3 lanes here: left turn only, straight only and right turn only. I'm cruising along and hear this horn blasting at me... I drive a truck so I don't see the car THAT IS TRYING TO TAKE MY SPACE IN THE LANE! Apparently Old Mr. Knucklehead realized he was in the wrong lane and that he had to get over... so he thought he would push me out. I let him go in front of me, since I figured that way he could get where he needed to be... it was so urgent to be part of the walking club.

Creep.
