I wonder what percentage of dates are actually successful. I wonder if anyone has ever done a study on that. I imagine someone has.

Which leads me to another question. How do you know if a date is successful?

You know a date was successful when you could tell

you were both at ease, comfortable and both had a

great time (no lulls in conv., lots of smiles &

laughs). It ends w/ saying you both will get in touch

w/ e/o and go out again and you do.

Hi! I think u can tell if a date is successful at the end of the evening by how u are feeling within yourself and while u are with the other person...

I have had some really bad dates and I wanted them to end before they even begin but then I have had some wonderful ones that I never want to end...

I am sure there has been some kind of study done on that.. and if u find it let us know I owuld be interested in reading!!

Have a great day!

Hugs

I suppose that a successful date would be subjective - for some it would need to lead to another one but for others it doesn't. Depends on why you are dating, I guess. For me - it merely had to be FUN and with interesting conversation. Thats all I need for a "sucessful" date. And I'd guesstimate (my word) that my percentage would be around 70% for that...as to second dates? Well...that would be considerably lower...LOL...

Echoing what others have said - a first date is great when... you forget that you are on date and are just having fun getting to know another person. If you can feel relaxed in the first half hour or so, and you palms aren't sweaty and your mouth isn't dry...

how do i know if a date was successful? i agree with the others - it's all about fun, eh?

(and i've never been on a date where i didn't enjoy myself)

i guess another definition would be finding out that you have good chemistry with the other person... and in that respect, i think even 10% is a good batting average...
