Just in a blue funk today...
Not sure why. Ok, well... it's my ex-bf's birthday on Saturday and I realized that I haven't seen him now for 17 months, but I can still feel him. Feels like yesterday some days.
Any tips for cheering up?
I have been in a good mood and optimistic up until today, so maybe it's just one of those days.

I agree - wallowing is bad, but letting yourself feel it is healthy and does help you get through it. I think special days or anniversaries like your ex's father's death will always bring up those feelings. In time, they will not be quite so strong, but they will be there to some extent.
Good luck with the surgery! I had all sorts of oral surgery as a kid, so I know how much of a pain that can be. Hope it's relatively painless and that you heal quickly. :)

I've had a down week too...hopefully next week will be better. I'm just down about my appearance and the changes I need to make but seem so impossible.
Grr...I wish I was perfect...no actually, I dont...but almost perfect would be good enough ;)

Do things feel better this week?
I'd say do something nice for yourself. Also, don't look at the changes you "need" to make as a destination. It's a journey - and feel proud of yourself for baby steps and small victories.
Also, maybe buy yourself a great outfit that makes you feel good about where you are right now. No time like the present, right?

Thanks for asking, but no I'm not really feeling that much better about things. I know part of it is my sleep patterns as of late...I think I have some insomnia happening. I think its partly winter blahs and LDR blues and striving for something but setting myself back too. Cheating on myself if you will but justifying it. I just need a swift kick in the butt I think.
Oh well...tomorrow is another day. Hopefully this will pass soon. I hate being down.
Just like jules said, I have been drifting in and out of the blues as well. Yesterday was good, today I'm really down. I hate that!
For me, I guess I'm feeling a little old. I know I'm not old, but you know those days when your eyes look a little tired, you're a little sore, etc -- and that's just when some cute, perfect 20-year-old walks by! Ugh. I really need to stop comparing my life to others and I'd be much happier.
I agree that sleep makes a huge difference. The best advice I have for that is to create a routine before bedtime. Turn off the TV, read, have a cup of tea, take a bath -- whatever routine gets your body and mind to slow down and get ready for sleep.
Someone also gave me the advice to write down all your worries and to-dos before bed. If you have it written down, your mind is less likely to ruminate.
Good luck and feel better. Hugs to you.
