How many on this board are very, very, very happily single?

I love being single, but I also live at home too!!!! But I love it. I don't have to worry about if my man wants supper at a certain time. I don't have to anwser to a man, and I don't have to worry about a broken heart, plus I can spend my money on me!!!! I'm not dating nor looking to get married anytime soon. Maybe when I'm in my 30s....maybe.

Oh I am definitely single and loving it...I'm at the point where I very much want to date and meet new (preferably cute) people, but I have very little desire to be in a relationship; the idea of committing right now is just not appealing.

Definitely NOT me. I am soooo over the single life I could seriously strangle someone.

But I don't knock people who are single and happy, I wish I could be more like you.

I know what you mean. I want to explore life and do different things with out someone weighing me down so to speak. I might meet someone along the way and if everything is right I might get married, but I'm not bent on getting married anytime soon.

I have to say, it took me a long time to get there, single and happy. I think this is the first time I've GENUINELY been single and happy about it (and not just telling people I am) in three or so years. I always wanted so badly to just be ok with being single and FINALLY...it happpened.

How sweet of you to say that:

I am.

Marriage has never been of much interest to me.

I enjoy having a relationship when I'm in one, but I don't miss not having one when I don't. I like dating and enjoy the company of men.

But in all honesty, life is so much easier on my own.

It's been 3 years for me and it's taken a long time to stop hating it. I'm ok with being single and for the most part I'm fine with it. What messes me up is to date someone, begin to grow attached and think its heading towards a relationship, only to be dumped back in the 'not that into you reject' pile. That's when it suddenly sucks all over again. To get close to something that means a lot to me then have the bottom drop out again. It's hard to readjust to not having that extra something wonderful and make due without it once its gone.

Why do I keep thinking you've had a recent break up?? I must be mixing you up with someone else.

Well....I think I've finally started using that as an incentive to like being single. I'm sick of actually liking someone only to have them get all flaky on me. I'm sick of being treated in ways that I know I DON'T deserve to be treated. I'm tired of putting in 110 percent only to have the other person put in 40 or 50. Forget it, I'd rather just be single.

No, you're right. I did have a recent breakup (May 31st to be exact) and yeah, I'm still struggling through it.

I don't love it, I don't hate it.
