That's interesting--I thought you lived in a really small town.

OLD can be very frustrating and I don't blame anyone for quitting. I wonder if the blogger is meeting all those choices via OLD and that's why she feels like there's too many options. I live in a larger city as well and even when I was trying OLD I never felt overwhelmed by all those choices. In fact I was disappointed that there weren't more choices because what was available wasn't great lol. The city I am is more family oriented though and I have definitely considered factoring the availability of single men into my future out of state move.

Music, I'm always amazed when people say they have thousands of profiles online to look through. The last time I checked here, there were 37 profiles on match that fit my criteria- 27-37 (or 28-38...I can't remember) no kids and nonsmoker. That's it: 37.

I think the key is realizing that we have the appearance of choices (if I expanded my search to 50 miles instead of 20, for example, I'd probably have 100-200 profiles), but they aren't true options for all of us. Yes, there are lots of men out there, but we wouldn't choose to date all of them and they wouldn't all choose to date us.

I do think that a lot of what she said makes sense.

I do think that having lots of choices is just as hard as not having any choices at all.
