Well I have to admit I dont feel comfortable saying this because I don't like to toot my own horn but I have to share this with someone! lol
I met this girl a week or so ago through mutual friends and we just said hi and talked for maybe a few minutes but not much. Just kind of introduced to each other basically. Well she was gorgeous....really attractive and I was blown away by her when I first saw her....well I saw one of my friends tonight who introduced us....and they said that after she met me she told a couple of her friends that I was "the most beautiful man" she'd ever seen.
OK I am having a hard time believing this but....it made my day today anyway so I'm just in a good mood and sharing it so....sorry lol

You need to follow through on that!
Aww, that's great. It's always nice to get good feedback like that.
So, now do you plan to ask her out?
I have to tell you, my long-term ex and I met that way. Through friends. We all went out dancing one night. I never expected to see him again, but he got my number through one of our mutual friends and didn't hesitate to call -- I think he called about two days later and asked me out. It was hugely flattering, and so nice to have a guy make a confident first move like that. We dated for five years. :)
AJ, enjoying life with C.

It's refreshing to see someone talking about their ex this way.
Getting around personal awkwardness is tough, but I'm pretty convinced that being direct is important.
I learned to be direct when I was set up by "friends." A friend's girlfriend wanted me to drive to another city and stay over to spend a weekend and meet her best friend. I got so caught up in the "she's hot, how can I do anything" that we just sat on the couch the first night. My friend and his girlfriend convinced me to stay over. The next night "M" asked me "what are we doing?" I don't remember the pansy response I made, but I felt like a fool. She wanted me as much as I did her. I just needed to be more direct. We went to bed that evening and continued to do so for 2 years.
We get so caught up in elevating people we forget that everyone is human.
