Hi all,
I know I don't frequent this board much anymore. I still read but don't post. But I'm seething right now and have to write this or I'll blow up.
I live on the outskirts of St. Louis. There is a restaurant close to my apartment that my BF and I frequent. About a month ago I noticed some cats running around the parking lot after dark, scrounging around near the dumpster.
Being the animal lover that I am I checked it out again the next night. They are still there. It's a momma cat and three very small kittens.
They seem afraid of people so I assume they were dumped off or feral. Either way, I have been going up there every morning and every evening providing them with fresh water and food to keep them from running around. They have also been getting used to seeing me there and are becoming more friendly.
Anyway, I sent a letter to this pet adoption place I have dealt with in the past. They give me an email address of an animal rescue place here in the city. I email them. And this animal place has been nothing but snotty and condescending to me since I contacted them.
I have emailed back the pet adoption place that I will have nothing more to do with the animal rescue place. If that's how they treat their volunteers - they can forget it. I have enough on my plate and I don't need attitude.
And these places complain that no one volunteers their time! Well no wonder! It's easier and less stressful to be apathetic.
Sheesh. Why is is so hard to do the right thing? :(

Is the rescue place close enough that you could go in and talk to them face to face?
It's hard to explain but they have implied that I have already contacted them and that "Well, we TOLD you we NEED your PHONE number!"
I sent back an email and apologized that I never got such a note - that that was the first contact I had made.
They sent back a note with one line "See below..." and there is a carbon copy of an email between the pet adoption center and the rescue society about getting my phone number that *I NEVER RECEIVED.*
So miscommunication all around but I'm not dealing with attitudes anymore. I'm too old for this garbage. I'll find a humane society here in the city.
