Ive been making a very good effort to lose weight for the past 3-4 weeks. I had lost some with half-hearted effort, and decided I needed to be more committed. Well, over the past three weeks I've managed to raise the number on the scale back up those five pounds. I'm cycling through the same 4-5 pounds over and over. It's very frustrating!! I think maybe I wasn't eating enough the first couple of weeks, so I'm changing things up and hopefully that will make a difference.

I feel like I have the same experience with men! Little progress, even though I have been trying to mix things up. Going different places. Shopping at different times. Trying to be more open to talking to strangers (that one is hard!). Somehow, I still stay motivated. Just like with losing the weight, I know I've been able to do it before, so I can do it again.

I guess what I'm trying to say is...don't give up hope. None of us knows what's around the corner for us, good or bad. We can decide what our attitude is going to be about it, though!

Ya know, it's weird but I eat slower in front of the tv or computer. I get busy reading something or posting and forget that I have food. Then it gets cold. I do weigh and track everything, though, so even if I do eat it all (and I have to or I don't have enough calories for the day) I won't be eating too much.

I don't think they hold speed dating events around here, or at least I've never seen one advertised. I don't think there are enough single men around to have one. If you go, you'll have to let us know how it goes.

I do think behavior changes are the key.

Yes that is true shy.. I never thought I could lose weight but because I wasnt doing the right thing the weight wasnt coming off. So a friend of mine suggested adding more fruits and veggies , cut out sugar and heavy carbs.. and I walk everyday.. I changed it up more than I was and I lost 8 lbs.. I have more to go but changing that up really helped. The motivation comes from wanting to try and get healthier because I dread not feeling well and I was not feeling well .. very fatiqued and well long story..

As far as the man thing I went to a bridal luncheon today and a woman who was there said she knew some single men in their fifties that are looking for single women.. I said okay bring it on... and hopefully she will come through...

Yes; changing up things and always feeling that sense of hope gets me through the day and basically through life.
