I have been flirting for a while with the hostess in the restaurant that I work in. The problem is that I work at the service bar while she works at the reception. So, since we can't leave our spots for a long time, it is hard for me to talk to her, get her into a good mood and suggest a coffee date or something.

On Monday I missed an opportunity and did not realize it at the time. When she was walking by the bar, I asked if she was coming to help me clean the bar. She said okay, but since I was not really looking for help, I told her, "Neh, I don't need help. Just kidding ...." Darn, I should have kept her there.

Any suggestion?

Well, if she tends to walk by a lot and has no idea you like her, I'd just start by throwing some compliments her way; often I'm surprised by who actually has a thing for me and once they start showing it a little, it sometimes (depending on who we're talking about here) makes me notice them a little bit more and look at them differently. Just tell her she looks nice today or something...then find another excuse to get her to the bar. :) Keep it simple!

Keep the compliments clean too. No lady likes a man who sounds like a dirty old man!

If you've been flirting for awhile, it's definitely time to ask her out.

I think being direct goes a long way. Just make sure you have a nice positive, confident vibe going on when you decide to go for it.

Good luck.
