>>Maybe it's just guys in their 20s, idk, but it just seems like normal girls get overlooked ALL THE FRIGGIN TIME.

I think it's an age thing. Not that all college-aged guys are hormonal pigs who only want to get laid by "hot" women, but being overlooked as a normal woman seems to be a bigger problem then. I went to a university of 30,000 people and I NEVER dated (well, more than one date) a guy from the same school. The guys I did date I just happened to meet out or through friends or, in the case of a couple, online. Most of them were flakes, too, honestly, who didn't seem terribly interested. I feel like I hardly ever got any attention in college. However, in the year-plus since, I haven't dated a WHOLE lot, but I notice guys noticing me a lot more, which is nice. :) Gives me some flirting material, if nothing else, haha.

I think part of looking "normal" is that some of us won't wear tops cut to our navels and skirts that barely cover what God gave us. Some women seek out that extra attention by revealing their world, plus adding the pounds of makeup and the six-inch spike heels. (I agree with cml on the Pam Anderson reference).

I am a big believer in putting out there what you would like to attract. If I wanted a shallow, nothing-going-on-but-hormones kind of guy, then I'd dress and act in a more provocative way. I am looking for quality, though, so I try to respect myself and present myself in a way that's more conservative and thoughtful.

Not all attention is the kind of attention you would want in the first place. :)

I really think that people attract what they put out too. If you are the Pam Anderson look-alike, you'll probably attract guys that are shallow in that manner and only want a easy lay. There are lots of women (myself included) who do not dress and behave like sluts but who also do not dress and behave like prudes either. They are classy women who respect themselves and have confidence that they're worth something more than a living sex doll. Makes you wonder what men are really like... seeing as so many of them go after the nearly-naked easy women. Doesn't give much hope to the women who want men to see them for the women they are instead of judging in black and white terms: yes/no, easy/not worth notice. Yes to easy, no to everything else female.

Don't be sorry - she used to look cute, but now she looks a little like a transvestite, not to insult tranvestites! :-)

I know the type you mean with the super fake blondes, but I don't think that's the type guys really dig. I am very athletic, a runner and guys go nuts for my flat abs (women even compliment them) and I have no boobs.

Most men I speak to like women to look somewhat natural, but I do have to say that athletic does seem to get them interested. It gives more of a reason to go to gym, which I haven't been able to do in 2 weeks thanks to my insane schedule and out of town visitors two weekends in a row.
