Talking to Men At The Grocery Store

Hi everyone,

I don't post on this board very often. But I've recently moved to a new, smaller city for university and am looking to meet a few guys. There seems to be no guys in my program and since its summer the campus is fairly empty of hot men.

Although I've come to the realization there seems to be lots of hot guys at the grocery store, after all, men love to eat! I'm just shy so I find it difficult to talk to them. Does anyone have any suggestions on this??

Thanks,
J-LA

I'm doing good to make eye contact and smile!

You could always approach Mr. Hottie and ask him if he'll reach something for you on a top shelf, or lift something heavy.

Ask him to squeeze your melons?

LOL - just kidding.

I have zero luck meeting men in grocery stores. The ones who check me out always seem to be wearing wedding bands.

Yeah, y'know, what is UP with married men openly checking out other chicks?

I was in the checkout line the other night - this very foxy dude (looked a bit like Bruce Thomas http://z.about.com/d/tvdramas/1/0/6/B/kylexy.jpg ) was checking me out from the next line over. Did some flirting back and forth...OK, I was blatantly checking him out too...so he leaves just ahead of me...and I see the gold band of death. Asshat.

It's my secret fantasy to meet Mr. Wonderful at the grocery store so I don't have to try online dating again. :)

I wish I had some great advice to give, but I'm shy. Like Shywon, I have to force myself to make eye contact and smile. I also have this odd tendency to panic and flee (not running, but casually moving out of the area) if I think someone might be approaching ME - even if I'm interested. I'm sorry to say I've done that on multiple occasions at the bookstore.

So, my new strategy is to stand my ground. Feel the fear, and let someone actually talk to me for a change.
