Do you think that technology hinders people's ability to meet other people IRL? For example, I ride on a bus daily and it seems like once people sit down, out comes a cell phone, or an iPod, or a PDA. It seems like the trend nowadays especially amongst the younger generation. Any thoughts?

Cheers

Yes, I complain about this all the time. People don't make eye contact or say hello because they are so attached to their cell phones or other tech gear.

I don't even own a cell phone, so I don't get the need to be connected all the time. It's funny - because they choose to connect with people *other* than the people right in front of them in the real world.

Very aggravating.

Several times, I was deterred from approaching a girl because she was talking on the phone. Granted, I should work on my confidence, but the phone does not have to be there....
