They just assume...

Sometimes the things people assume about us because we're single really bug me! What is the most annoying thing someone has assumed about you, just because you're single?
I probably didn't react the best today to one. I hate it when people assume I can't cook because I don't have a family. Today was a food day at school. After my coworker tasted my meatballs, she commented, "You're becoming quite the cook." I probably just should have said thanks, but I've been cooking since I was ten. So I just said that I always have been. She was miffed. But she's like that. Everyone always assumes I just don't cook because there isn't a man in my house! It's annoying.

I travel to Europe a lot, always alone, and because I learned Italian as an adult, people usually assume that I go to Italy to have lots of sex with various Italian men.
CB- the gay one came to mind, too. Given what Marina said, I suppose we can't win either way, huh? Either we're easy if we flirt or gay if we don't.
I'm not even talking about flirting!
Most days, I'm amazed at the stupid things some people say!
This hasn't happened to me personally but when you're divorced then it seems to some married women that they need to beware that you are going to hit on their DHs.
The most annoying is women who think I'm trying too hard to meet someone. Their sage advice: "You'll meet him when you stop looking/least expect it/in an unusual, surprising way."
But then, I've also been advised that I just "need to get out there." Where, might I ask, is "out there"?
Yeah, its so easy for them to say "need to get out there" when most of them married their high school boyfriends or had a man just fall in their laps.
That is so silly...I'm glad you schooled her, ha-ha.
One of my dearest and closest friends to this day swears I'm a lesbian. True, I'm not girly and I did hook up with a couple of girls back in the day but that doesn't make me a lesbian. Besides, if I were, I'd have no reason to hide it.
