They're mad as heck...

... and they're not going to take it anymore!!
The animals are gearing up. I had to go to the university yesterday to have a PPD test done. While I'm sitting there in the nurses' office, waiting my turn, the student in front of me told the nurse she was there because a squirrel had attacked her that morning. The rodent had jumped from a tree, landing on her head and scratched her and scared the bejeesus our of her. Didn't bite her, but the student was going to have a tetnus shot to be sure.
As I'm sitting there, listening to this, ANOTHER student popped his head in the nurses' office door and said, "I got attacked by a squirrel. I need to see the nurse!"
*I cracked up at that point*
AND NOW, as I sit here typing this, there is a robin beating on my downstairs basement window. He's been sitting there for about an hour, banging on the window with his beak.
I attribute all this animal hostility to nature show hosts.

Wouldn't most animals be having babies about this time?
The only time I've ever seen geese get mad is when you get near their babies.
Yep! When my youngest sister was maybe 3 or 4, we went for a walk around a nearby lake.
I don't know about turkeys (never really seen any wild turkeys around here although I know they are around) but yeah, the Canada geese can be downright mean.
At the old house I used to live at, there was a lake nearby with a quarter mile walking trail around it, and the geese would set up shop all over the lake.
I'd go down there to walk or run occassionally and be rushed by these geese. Best thing I found to do is to stomp your feet and take a few stomping steps in their direction and yell at them at the same time. They get the hint and back off.
In other news, the robin finally stopped. The cat is disappointed though.
That is just bizarre.
They're everywhere in MA for some reason. I think it's because their homes are all being destroyed to make way for new homes and apartment complexes.
A few years ago, I beheld an amusing sight: I heard a dog barking in the neighborhood (the one by the lake) where I used to live, so I looked outside, just in time to see two turkeys running down the street with a black lab chasing them and barking. One of the funniest darned things I've ever seen. The way the turkeys' legs looked as they were running...kind of reminded me of those wooden birds-on-a-pole people put in their yards with the little propellers that spin when the wind blows...
Yeah, you wouldn't think you'd see stuff like this in MA. LOL
That reminds me of another bird "attack" I was witness to a few years ago. :)
I was probably a teenager, and my family lived in this neighborhood. There was a very friendly big old orange neighborhood cat named Fuzz who would come around and visit everyone. People would leave food and water out for him. He was a nice cat and minded his own business.
Anyway, one day Fuzz was walking across our backyard and there was this cowbird (actually a northern mockingbird, but we called them cowbirds) and he was sitting on the fence squawking up a storm at the cat. The bird would hop down the fence screeching at the poor cat, and then the bird would up and swoop down on the cat and peck him on the butt, and fly to the fence on the other side of the yard. Then the bird would do the same thing, but from the other side, and back and forth and back and forth, pecking, squawking and so forth. And all the while, Fuzz just moseyed across the yard, ducking his head when the bird came at him, very world-weary. You could almost imagine him rolling his eyes and sighing.
That was SOO funny to see the whole thing. Like you say, it was one of those times I SOOO wish I would have had a video camera.
