Hello folks;

I know at times some of us have mentioned Wayne Dyer on here (Me , marina)... I was watching him today on PBS to get some inspiration about life and he says he has leukemia and his wife left him for another man and they are divorced.

It was kind of shocking to say the least...

Free, if this is the same Dr. Dyer, my father gave me one of his books when I was going through puberty.

oh; I dont know if its the same guy.. He is Dr.Wayne Dyer.. A huge spiritual guru who has been around for many years.. He is a motivational speaker and wrote many books.. can you google him?
I know that Marina said that he cheated many times on the wife ... The leukemia thing threw me for a loop because he always talked about manifesting things and destiny and all types of how to have the best life, etc.etc.

I dont remember the titles of his books as I am losing my memory.. Old age I guess. (sorry) but I have a few of his books..oh; I think one is Intention ... or something like that...

He didnt look so good on PBS this morning and I was like.. wow.. what is wrong with him? Then he started to talk about his leukemia and his wife leaving him.. So sad....

First of all, I've met him in person and he is about the most magnetically sexy man one could imagine;

He is human. He is over 70 years old...all the positive thinking in the world isn't going to make you immortal.

I think he's an interesting public speaker and he brings up some good points. We don't have access to some of the great teachers of the past, Gurdijeff, Conficious, etc so he reminds us of those teachings. I'm not sure how much of it is actually HIS and not just regurgitated from others. But I forgot about all the "I am" stuff in the bible until he brought it up. He's good for that.

As to his wife, I don't know anything about that. That's between them and it sounds like they are still speaking to each other so that's a good sign :)

AND Americans are so prudish about this stuff - we make a big deal out of infidelity like fidelity is normal for the species. Geez, leave people's sex lives alone and grow up already, right?

wow; I felt like you guys bit my head off or something.. in your posts..

Yes; I know that he is human and most likely he and his wife had affairs but it was still upsetting..

I was just taken aback and it was a little bit of a shock to find out he was sick and yes hopefully he will be okay.. I just always liked him and he has helped many people..

I don't know if you saw where I edited my post, but that author wasn't him, so apologies on my behalf.

It's always sad when something bad happens to a perceivably good person.

oh; thanks CFK...

I always listen to Dr.Oz also.. (you know him) and one day my ex husband who I still talk to (long story) said to me.. Oh; what happens if Dr.Oz gets cancer or a very deadly disease and people wont look up to him anymore and his advice was wrong.. I dont know but I follow some of his recommendations...

I have healthy issues myself and think I do the best i can with what I have.. There are some days though that when I look at other people who smoke and eat bad food and dont excercise I think how come they seem like they have nothing wrong with them and me who tries so hard to take care of myself the best I can has problems.

Life is so unfair isnt it???

It's funny you mention people who don't take care of themselves and Dr. Oz in the same paragraph. I caught one of his shows not long ago and he had a bunch of women on who had heart disease. Every one of them appeared to be in perfect physical condition. None were overweight, I don't think any of them were smokers...it's so odd when that happens. I've known some men who suffered fatal heart attacks, and were daily runners, too. It's a**backwards sometimes I guess and for no apparent reason(except perhaps heredity).

You are right in saying that heredity plays a part in health... My whole family is prone to heart disease and diabetes so now as I age I have to be more careful ;; My dad died of a stroke and cancer but most things I read say that we are not our family.. I have no idea what to believe anymore.

Its like I still think the medical community is just still only practicing medicine.. They cant get it right to this day. I also read that things can be cured but the govt. keeps that from us so they make money on people who have a disease.. It all gets so confusing..

I do know that Dr.Oz treats the whole person medically, spiritually, emotionally etc.etc.
