Unbelievable...or is it??

Hello all!!
I'm a single, 27 year old (today's my birthday!) woman. I experienced something today that really disturbed me.
I had a stove delivered to my house today, and there were two delivery men. One of the guys came into my house, introduced himself, and proceded to disconnect my old stove so that he could connect the new one. I ALWAYS look at men's hands for wedding rings, even if I'm not interested. I guess its' just become a habit. The guy was wearing a wedding band. Anyway, he was very friendly (on the verge of flirtatious). I wasn't being flirtatious back with him because I don't flirt with married men AND I wouldn't have been interested in him even if he were single. My friend was over at my place, and the guys were being very flirtatious with both of us. Anyway, I mentioned that today's my birthday, and he said, "I guess I need to take you out." I smirked and said, "Oh really??" Then, I went and told my friend who was in another room. I went back into the kitchen with my friend, and...this is the kicker....THE GUY HAD TAKEN OFF HIS WEDDING BAND!! I had already seen it...and, the tan line from the ring was as clear as day!!! So, the guy WITHOUT the wedding band says, "My friend and I would like to take you ladies out...is that possible?" My friend says, "no it isn't, because my friend has already noticed that your buddy is married!" That was the end of that!! The married guy just stood there looking stupid.
I've never experienced anything like that first hand. Of course I know that people are unfaithful and dishonest; however, it was just shocking to witness it. It actually made me lose a bit of faith that my future boyfriend/ husband will be faithful to me. I don't know what kind of marrige that guy has; however, I just imagined how his wife may think that the marriage is fine, not even knowing that her husband takes off his wedding band and comes on to other women. How do we know what our significant others are doing when they're not with us? Does it take only a pretty face for a man to take his wedding band off and pretend to be available? What's going on??

I would like to believe that most men are good guys and this one was just a bad apple.
I think there are an equal number of women out there playing as well as men.
Concerning the delivery guy, a couple of things:
One is... they are trained/encouraged to be friendly with the women who receive the deliveries. This makes the women more likely to order from the store again. Think of how the UPS guys are friendly... they are trained to be that way.
Second is... there is a fine line between friendliness and inappropriateness (is that a word). If his behavior made you feel uncomfortable... such as he was invading your peronal emotional space, it is appropriate to call his supervisor and give him a heads up... such as when the guys made the delivery, they asked if they could take me and my friend out, which made me feel very uncomfortable. I wouldn't bring up the wedding ring bit because there should be records of who made what deliveries and the supervisor can check into that on his/her own and take whatever action is appropriate to that company's policy.
Clearly these guys were being more than "friendly"!
To the OP, that is disheartening to hear. But I don't think it means that most men are not trustworthy. I think you and your friend handled the situation well!
