So after my mentor's conversation with me this afternoon, when the boyfriend called (we'll call him "Mr. Smith") I was quite brief with him and got off the phone in under 5 minutes.

When I first started dating 2nd DH I had bought a new washing machine--it was delivered and they took the old one so I figured I'd just have to plug it in, but it involved doing something that involved soldering--he connected it and I was so impressed.

Once, on my baby sister's twelfth birthday, someone purposefully ran over her cat in front of our house. My stepdad wasn't around (as usual) so I had to clean it up before she saw.

I don't really have any awwww stories about sweet things guys have done for me. I've just learned to do it all myself- even if it involves scooping up a dead cat off of the street.

Once when I was first divorced, a raccoon fell into our pool and drowned (I have woods behind the house & a lot of animals there).

It's funny--I was thinking about that this a.m., how tiring it is to have to do everything by myself all the time.
