What IS "baggage"???

So I've seen "no baggage" talked about a lot lately, as a prerequisite for dating material.

What IS baggage? And how do you reach adulthood without having any?

Our experiences and how we deal with what we're dealt makes us what we are.

Personally, I'd rather deal with some baggage than a blah mediocre vanilla lifestyle.

I'm still holding out for my little Beacon Hill studio. I make decent money now, but with grad school, things will be tight for the next few years.

Boston, Chicago, New York, California . . .Dallas? Any big city,or waterfront location. (-: I think Miami is not in a bubble, just adjusting, like California we have that good old sunshine. You can charge top dollar for that.

Don't worry to much. Supply and demand. If salaries don't catch up, more affordable homes will show up. Cant build the whole market out with the target being only the top 5% of income earners. Think of it as 5 out of 100 homes. Sooner or later someone smells ALL the money in that fact. (-: I worry sometimes . . but then I just think / remember how often over the years you thought it would never get better . . .it always does in the end. (-: I just focus on work, get the money as good as I can, then act when the opportunity to own shows back up. all in the basics, never worry. ((-; This is my second time starting over . . it is no different for me now than you coming out of school . .. step by step. (-: It always comes down to the basics.

Except I'm further out of school than you might imagine! I put off grad school for awhile. But I'm embracing graduate school debt, with the in-for-a-penny philosphy.

If I had it to do over again I would do exactly what your doing. At this point I have a son and daughter who I need to worry about.
My son is hitting his 3rd year in the Architectural program at FIU. Expensive, but what a great thing. He has 75% paid under scholarship, helps a ton. Collage does not "run in the family". lol My daughter might get back, I hold out hope, she has one of those life sucking leach boy friends attached at the moment. But . . .she was in the top 3% of her high school, and might be able to find a scholarship again with some effort . . . . . she is a smart cookie when she wants to be. (-:

Education . . it is not automatic money, it does not even make some people very smart. (-: What it always does is give you a set of keys that can open all kinds of doors guys like me cant even knock on. What a great thing that is. Go for it, you will be glad you did. (-:

>>Education . . it is not automatic money, it does not even make some people very smart.

Ain't that the truth, haha. :) It's a misconception that's too common, I feel like. My entire family's very intelligent but, like you said, college doesn't run in the family. I just don't think many of my relatives actually LIKE school and/or learning...I did and still do and that made it far easier for me.

Grad school, ehhh, we'll see.

Just the other day I was watching some goofy TV show in which one of the characters was an art history major...another character commented that it wasn't very practical (gee, I haven't heard that one before!) to which she responded that it was practical for attracting a blue-blood boyfriend. I'd never gotten that one before. :) I just rolled my eyes...

Yea, well "officers' had to have collage . . .but . . .so many had NO comment since at ALL. lol Freighting idiots with guns and a licenses to fly. Scary stuff! My life in there hands. Someday remind me to tell you about the pilot that hit the tree with me along for the ride . . .LOL
Look, some were real good guys, but collage cant replace a good solid since of self and as shy said in another thread today, a healthy does of realism. Common since does not come out of a book. (-:

I think a lot of girls in fact do collage for a husband more than a job. (-: My first "true love" kind of taught me that game. (Spoke of it, she was from a wealthy family.) Some, well my ex girlfriend was 46 and going back to school. She had 4 years and her goal was to put a PhD in front of her name. She loved to learn. Me, I love to learn "some things" . . lol I hated and still hate school, but can get into some pretty dry reading if I get interested in a subject. (-:

I am in CA and the homes here begin at 500,000 for a two bedroom in an unsafe neighborhood.

Everywhere I'd potentially want to live is ridiculously expensive...perhaps I'll just stick to Boston. :)
