So you are single, you like to date and etc. What do you see sexy in a man?

While looking online and in magazines. There are tons of magazines like Maxim & FHM, but they are for men? What gives? Do you would you like to have a magazine like that see check out hot guys?

I also see online there are video bloggers and podcasters that are voted to be 'top hot women', but I never see anything for 'top hot men'? Would you like to see that too?

What gives? Do you women just not like that don't look at a magazine, watch a video blogger, or listen to a podcast because the person is not attractive (aka "hot") to them.

Sex sells and gets attraction to people to check things out and stir up interests.

So what do you seen man that is sexy that stirs up your interest to find out more? It is the looks, personality, everything or what? Give some good details!!

Well, I work in retail advertising, so we really don't sell sex. We just retouch the heck out of images to make them look perfect so the customer will want to buy the product.

I am also an Eastern Illinois grad - Class of 1998. Does Marty's still exist??

To women humor is Numero Uno. Even if you are butt ugly (which I am not saying you are) humor, and then confidence, trumps everything else.

Its not a coincidence that "love to laugh" is a staple opener in most online ads. Why ? Because they DO. Unlike men, women are sensitive creatures. Negative feelings come easily to them - from being turned off (sight, sound, smell) , to creeped out, frightened, bored, angered, depressed and whatever else. The only thing that counters all that is laughter. Women above all , like to "feel good". They are happiest when they are laughing.

Remember when Troy came out and there were gasps when Brad Pitt was all but naked? He was, but there was a strategically placed prop. Then there wasn't much until 300 came out and men showed an awful lot of skin and there were gasps again!

These gasps weren't coming from the women, they were coming from the male executives and they were certain it was a falling of the morality of US filmmaking.

You tell me the last R-rated action/adventure film that didn't have gratuitous female nudity. (OK, it's died down some since the late 80s early 90s, but you know what I mean.)

Sex sells, but the chief demographic is the 18-34 white male, no?

You don't hear about double-stick tape neede for men. If it's formal on the red carpet, women have plunging necklines and high slits (and double-stick tape) while men wear the same tuxedos up to the neck, down to the wrists and ankles. (I'd hate to be a guy in August).

Swimwear ads: you don't see Speedos on men (at least in the US) but women wear less material on twice as much and it's the style, right?

In ads of men that also entice women to buy (think cologne or similar), you see bared forearms, a chiseled chin, and a half-way unbuttoned shirt with a penetrating look into the camera or shy, downcast eyes. That's the targeted-for-women approach and keeps men comfortable/intrigued. Men can go with the look and buy the product while giving women a peep and firing the imagination -- it's what's not on display that sells for women, it's what might be there later, after the camera, that creates interest and the thought that this man might be funny, well-read, intelligent, etc. and hot as extra-credit!

Skin isn't of interest unless it's icing on the cake.

At least, that's my $.02 USD.

What do you see sexy in a man?

Here is a list of qualities I find sexy...

  • smart

  • sense of humor

  • well-read

  • has interests outside of himself or me

  • big (tall, large frame)

  • looks good in t-shirt & jeans as well as a suit

  • cares about people

  • non-conventional looks or accent

All of these qualities I have found in my favorite man in the world and he's my better half. That's not to say that he doesn't drool on his pillow and fart and do all those other things that are decidedly un-sexy. But it's ok.

examples of celebrities I find sexy:

  1. Keith Urban (country singer)

  2. Antonio Banderas (actor)

  3. James Earl Jones (actor)

  4. Patrick Stewart (actor)

  5. Ronnie Dunn (of country duo Brooks & Dunn)

  6. Orlando Bloom (actor)

  7. Daniel Radcliffe (actor)

If I ever found out that any of these guys drooled on their pillows or left the toilet seats up or threw their dirty underwear on the floor, then I probably wouldn't find them as hot... I just like the pictures they present to the public.

My friend told me about his comedy act, so I bought his first CD and it was hysterical so I bought his second CD and then we went and bought tickets to his show in Boston and then I saw some of his movies and then I just noticed that I found him attractive.

So it would have been his comedy act that drew me in not his looks.

those 2 cents of yours was amazing!! Great insite and I loved to hear what you said and very educated I might add too!!

So do you think there is a possiblity that more sex can be sold to women? If so how? or what is your opinoion.

I mean 'sex in teh city' is for women and one character has sex all the time, and I assume many women like to have sex too..LOL

LOL!! Everyone drools on the pillow at one point.. what if their nose was stuffed up and they had to breath through their mouth while sleeping, during that time they drool?
SO are you saying they shouldn't breath while they sleep?

LOL

Nice input!!

I've checked out ask men and if the majority of the men that post there is what is out there than all I can say is no wonder I'm single. YIKES!

They seem to have the lock on the most sexist people out there.

yea i know what you mean.. Some of the guys there are pervs..

I don' t understand why guys say some of the things and I don't understand why guys don't want to get married and all that. .

Right now, I'm single, but I don't have marriage in my mind because I'm not dating anyone serious to think about it. And I just don't date around just to date.. You know?

If I was dating someone serious, I would think about marriage..

Not for me. Positive/optimistic attidude trumps everything else. Then intelligence. Then, a belief in something bigger than his own backyard. Humor is on the list, but not first for me. I prefer someone who can balance humor with everything else.

AJ, enjoying life with C.
