What an enjoyable afternoon!
Sat, 11-24-2012 - 3:30pm

After a bit of whining recently, I just have to share this with you. As mentioned in one post here yesterday, I did go to a concert today with my bass playing neighbour. As handsome as ever and smiling so gorgeously on stage! A great show, I also met some friends from the choir. Anyhow, went to the bus stop when the concert was over and thought I had missed a chance to talk to him again. But just afterwards, he comes walking with his bass on his back - going to take the bus too! Smile I had noticed him drinking a few beers during the afternoon, but figured he had a ride home with someone. So, saying hello and giving compliments on the good concert. And then the conversation is on!

Talking a bit while waiting for the bus, and oh joy! It is the bus with the longest route back home! 15-20 minutes and we talked just about the entire journey. As he had his bass beside him (near the window) I could not sit exactly next to him, but in the row on the other side of the aisle. We talked about his bands and my choir (he has played with us before) etc. Smooth and easy conversation, smiling and looking at each other. I was keen to keep it going, so a few times I had to think about a new topic - and it worked. We were asking each other questions about his bands/my choir etc, time went fast! I particularly like one of the bands he´s in, so I asked about them. He told me they are in studio making a new album and that they are playing at the same place as today just before Christmas (I already knew that, hehe). He told me that I really have to come. Smile I asked if it is possible to get a hold of their previous album, and he said it was difficult for the "general audience" - but he would get it for me via the band leader! He asked about my choir and complimented us for our good standard and loyal "fan base", and if we were having a concert soon. As we are having our Christmas concerts next weekend I told him that, and told him where they are held when he asked.

Getting off the bus, I had originally planned to go to the grocery store being there outside the bus stop. But of course I joined him on our short walk to the apartments, and we kept on talking about this and that. About Christmas parties at work, and where I work. Just when he turns to his apartment (and I have to walk a bit further, next block), he repeats that he will make sure the album is posted to me as he knows the address (I think he said that, at least). Thank you!

After having said goodbye, I did of course continue to the other grocery store (where I met him yesterday) to buy my dinner...hehe. This was great! He is so easy to talk to and it feels very natural. Not nervous at all, being myself. Needless to say, in a very good mood this evening. But not even thinking it means anything. Really nice bus ride though! Laughing

Good for you, Ruby!  It is always so cool when the conversation flows easily and naturally with someone you are attracted to.  Just being yourself. Just bask in that feeling.  Who knows?

I'm glad that you got the opportunity to get to talk to him & that things went in a natural way.  It's good for him to get the opportunity to know you too and hopefully if you keep seeing each other & concerts & things, stuff can flow from there.

That's awesome news, Ruby. You two have so much in common so if nothing else, it sounds as if you definitely have a new partner in crime ;]

That's great, Ruby! Next time you see him, it'll feel natural to say hi. It would be rude if you didn't, and since you've already had a lengthy conversation that will come easier too. I think those long conversations are what opens up new levels when it comes to romance.

What a nice turn of events!  It's so much fun to talk to someone and get that warm feeling....hopefully things progress.  I am hoping he decides to attend your concert!

Good on ya!   I am so glad you ditched your earlier plans and stayed with the convo!    I really hope this makes you feel more comfortable for the next convo!

Thanks, everyone! Smile On top of it all, it is always great talking to people who know music - as that is my main interest in life really.

Shy, I have always believed that being friends first would be a good base to relationships. My parents have been married for 40 years very soon and my Mum still says that it is the basic friendship that makes it possible. And so, good conversations are very important!

Let´s see if the album shows up in my mailbox then... LOL.
