I absolutely LOVE to cook. I was watching something the other day, and someone was grilling pizza outside on a grill. I had always heard that the best pizza's were cooked in a brick oven, with wood coals. Well, I tried it tonight. Made the dough from scratch, and the sauce. I bought some fresh mozzarella, basil, and pepperoni. The dough was super easy. Used Fleischman's pizza dough yeast with a recipe I found online. That took all of about 15 minutes. The sauce was supposed to have set for half an hour, but I hadn't read the recipe ahead, ha-ha. It sat for about half that amount. Grilled one side of the dough, flipped it (used corn meal on one side to prevent sticking, plus oiled up grate well) then topped it with the ingredients and voila!
I'll be honest, it was not the best pizza I've ever had, but it was hella fun!! I didn't have any wood though, I just used regular coals -- perhaps that would have made a difference. I should have put the basil on last. It bittered a little. Plus, instead of olive oil on the grates, I used PAM. I think it burned a little before I got the dough on . . .
Am I a total nerd for being so excited about grilling a pizza? Do you guys have any nerdy tendencies/hobbies you'd like to share? (I literally have texted several friends along with a picture of my masterpiece. Such a dork!)

When I used to go to karaoke more frequently I remember that there was some kind of tuner that the DJ had on his system where he could actually lower the key of a song but i don't know if all of them have that. I am an alto so I have to make sure the song doesn't go too high.
White-satin, I agree. It's like the thrill of the big game hunter bagging a prize.
Hey Shywon--we have been having weekly themes for my dance school's Friday night practice dances & this week is karaoke. I volunteered to sing--hopefully I won't make a fool out of myself since I haven't done karaoke in about 10 yrs. I know I can sing but you know how it is if you aren't familiar w/ the song or the backing tracks. I have been practicing to You Tube karaoke videos.
Clothes or shoes that look gorgeous on me and priced at a bargain!
Shy, who knew!? That's awesome. I was freaking out about actually putting dough over an open fire. I just knew it was going to flop. It was an adrenaline rush. I've sang Karaoke once, and it will never happen again . . .
Free, I wish I could jet around, too! Being that I am in the deep south, and we fry everything, we're just now catching onto the health-kick-type-products out there. Who knew you could make a pizza with tapioca. That's insane!
Lady, I posted back in the summer about treating oneself . . . I'd had a little make-shift spa day. It's the little things!
Florida, love visiting ethnic eateries and grocery stores. It's funny you mentioned Bobby Flay. I posted a meatball recipe from his show, "Throwdown" on another board a while back. Love him! Going to have to Google "Hungarian Goulash" now, LOL.
