Do you think that if you really set your mind to meeting a great guy in a given time period, you could do it?

Biochic,
I know where you are coming from. When I was in my early 30's I still very much wanted children. I toyed with the idea of going to a sperm bank, but my father was still alive then, and, conservative Catholic he was, it would have killed him.
Now, from my perspective at age 45, if, when you are in your late 30s and still very much want kids but Mr. Right has failed to make his appearance, I say go for it. I think this is a very viable choice, though I chose not to make it myself. I don't think I wanted children that badly. From what I hear, there are some sperm banks which have donors with impeccable credentials, as far as looks, brains, etc. I don't really like this option, but I say for women who are burning to bear a child and haven't found Mr. Not-so-Right, it's certainly a more preferable option than marrying some dolt you don't love just to give the baby a father and a name.
I'm not saying you won't find someone you love and want to marry before then(I forget your age Biochic) BUt if you really want a child, I wouldn't let lack of a husband get in your way. Might not be the ideal, but who ever said life was perfect??
Good luck in whatever happens for you!
