Scoops prompted this question when he posted:

If you want to find love, it is not always a feeling but a selfless act.

I really believe that a large part of loving someone is an act and not really a feeling.

I believe love comes in different forms. For instance towards my parents, love is obedience and thankfulness. Towards family and friends it is being there for them, listening to them and their troubles, bearing their burdens, offering encouragement, going to the store for them when their sick and your well. It is not about yourself but getting joy from helping others. Now, regarding a spouse, this love is different than friends and families and your neighbors. This love is a bond btween a man and a woman. It has the characterisitcs of what I mentioned above. Love is committment, it is loyal, it does not seek to gratify oneself, but your mate. It is affection towards your spouse, it is romantic, it is sexual and about pleasing your spouse, it is not discouraging, but uplifting, sometimes it's just doing what you don't want to or feel like. It is wanting what is best for the other person. Love is about caring for the other person's emotional needs and wants, it is honoring one's vows. Love is the greatest gift we could give one another. It is compose dof the physical, spiritual and emotional.

I'm sure I'll think of more later. But, we obviouslt love people in dfferent way. With a spouse that love is different and more special. I can also tell you love is not about self gratification and it does not seek out to control. Okay done rambling for now, but this is an awesome post and I hope it chalenges us all to really seek out and think on this topic. Can't wait to see what others post.

I just read this in a book today, and it really touched me, so I thought I'd share...

"It's more than you think it can be...it changes everything, and fixes everything that matters. Maybe you're never going to be the same, and maybe part of you is always afraid of what will happen IF...but he's always going to be there...all you have to do is reach out, and he's going to be there..."
