what we can do in two years

A friend of mine just sent me some pictures of her daughter. The baby is sooooo cute, and her smiling face just melts my heart.

Two years ago, this friend and me both went through some big ugly breakups. She then met her husband, started dating, moved in together, got pregnant, got engaged, got married, and gave birth to this doll. Me? had 2 more relationships in two years and none of them last more than 3 months. Ugh.

Guess I am envious of her. 2 years of my life passed by without any success in finding my Mr. Right. What about another 2 years? Scary. ;-)

My best friend has been with the same guy for two years, engaged for a year and a half of it.

I've gone 2 years without a relationship myself and thought the same thing. But really those 2 years went by so fast and before I knew it I was in another relationship!

I love that comment:
- At least single, you know you're not with Mr. Wrong!
That's soooo true. I'm with you on that girlfriend.

I've been going through the same thing. I ended my most significant relationship (5 years) two years ago. In that time, several friends have gotten married, had babies, moved on, etc. in ways that I have not. My love life has been less than stellar in the past two years. I always thought I'd be the first of my friends to get married and have a family, and it looks like I will be the last.

I do get a bit envious and depressed, but then I also think, "hey, this could happen to me." You just never know when you will meet someone great -- a lot can change in a year, six months, or even a day. Like that song, "What a Difference a Day Made." Tomorrow could be my day, so I hold onto that for hope.

AJ, enjoying life with C.
