I've just turned 47. I might date a man as young as 45 if he were an exceptional person.

I think it's interesting, Marina, that you would only date a guy 2 yrs younger but 10-12 yrs older.

I'm 34 and usually attract men who are about 25 for some reason. Although it seems way too young, I usually give them a chance because my friends all tell me I'm too picky. It's never worked out. As for older, that's a tricky one. I want a guy who is still interested in having kids so age is important there. Plus I'm not into guys who look too old. Ideally, he'd be between 30-40, but I'm flexible if needed.

Interesting question. The last guy I dated was 9 years younger, I think that's my limit. My last serious boyfriend is 8 years younger, we are still friends. I am having a hard time accepting I will be 40 in a few years, so I find it hard dating someone a lot older for that reason and because I don't know if most men that age will want more children which is a must for me. I am comfortable with a max of 5 years older. Then again my sistet's husband is 12 years older than she is, so I mght be flexible if the man doesn't have children and wants them. BIL didn't have children, now they do.

I'm with you about the retired guys. I'm 57, and officially on my OLD profile I say I'm looking for someone 52 - 62. I'm not going to be retiring any time soon, so a guy that's already in that phase of life isn't appealing, but of course there could be exceptions. And yes, many older men (and women too) have really let themselves go: the big beer belly, out of fashion, and just grizzled looking. But I'd really just like someone my age. This doesn't stop the 70 year olds from contacting me, of course. I do hear from younger guys occassionally. But I'd rather be able to share the same cultural things with a man--we grew up to the same music and history for instance.

Is it odd that old men have never contacted me?

When my great-grandpa was 71, I was 9.

She must have been a really tiny woman or it was a really tall ceiling for her to have to stand on something to hit the ceiling with a broom. Something sounds fishy about that story. Maybe she died in the middle of sex with your great-grandpa and they had to cover it up!

That's unusual. I guess you just look so young in your photos that they figure they don't have a chance!
