Wireless Routers

I have a Belkin wireless router for my laptop and my next door neighbor informed me recently that he could connect to it at will. He also said that someone else in the neighborhood has a wireless system and said that he could actually see her "going's on" online. I'm totally paranoid now.
Does anyone else have a wireless router or know anything about them and why he can connect even though I have a firewall? Well, I know why he can connect, that makes sense but the part about being able to see what my neighbor is doing on line is really freaking me out.

Well that **IS** all I am talking about. =)
My computer is on lock down, wep security, mac filtering and SSID number is changed and that is exactly just codes and passwords so only my two tivos and my computer is allowed access and I have no issues like you described.
So like I said, whatever you did to your computer is probably different than the security I did to mine, I appreciate your advice a few posts ago to me but I was just telling you that I'm okay with the security I have it's not hindering me and my computer in any way.
Smile,
Deirdre
Sorry Lovinhockey -- my advice wasn't directed to you at all way back at my original post I guess i just got to the end of the messages (which I guess was you) and hit reply.
I was actually talking in general to the entire mass of readers out there in the great abyss :-) and didn't mean to imply that YOU didn't know what you were doing at all.
My problem is a combo of wireless network security . .. windows firewall . . . and an antivirus program that all combined together make for an extremely secure - unfortunately slow - system. I've been advised that the slow down is a direct result of how tight my security is.
LOL so my original goal to be secure was certainly met :-)
