We in America do not have government by the majority. We have government by the majority who participate.

Well I appreciate the sentiment, thank you.

Anyway, I did mean a short time. Maybe YOU were talking about the long run, but I was talking about the short. And a comment can't be "totally invalid" if it's true for someone, and it's most certainly true for me.

I've been single for about three years and I've had time to reflect on myself, what I want to be doing for myself, my career, whatever. If I can become a better person alone, I'll be a better person in a relationship, eventually. Honestly, at this point in my life, I just don't think I'm ready for a relationship and I am better off alone. I see myself as a generally good (though imperfect) person, but I tend to act like a nut when I start seriously dating someone and I don't like that about myself. I just need to grow up a little before and (so cliche I almost don't want to type it) focus on me before I get serious with anyone else.

<<What do you mean by 'acting like a nut' ? And what do you think is the reason for it? Are all or most women like this? I'm just curious to know and learn . thanks. >>

Two of my close girlfriends who have been single for a long time both act this way. Not all girls act this way, but I do think we have more of a predisposition to do so then men.

No, in my experience most women aren't (most normally sane women who I'd be friends with, anyway).
