Well, lil red--your fantasy sounds pretty good to me since I have never been to Paris & hope to get there before I die--hopefully w/ a man!

I have 3 rather memorable NYEs--good memories, I would say.

1) When I was in my early 20's I was dating this guy and he & I, his 2 roommates & their GFs went out to a place where they had dinner & dancing and then we all stayed overnight.

Whoops, forgot the fantasy one! My fantasy would be to spend NYE in Paris with someone I love. The evening would start with a really incredible dinner, then champagne during the fireworks before returning to our room...you know the rest!

Okay, I will give it a shot. :)

Best - spent NYE at Times Square right after 9/11. The streets were packed and even though we were staying at a hotel right the square, there was no way to get onto the square without walking 20 blocks up and then coming back down. It was waay too crowded for that, so we decided to go in the opposite direction of the crowd, cross over behind the ball drop area and come back up that way. It was six blocks! Anyway, we got to a barrier and told the cop we were trying to cross over to our hotel. She said, "hang on a second" and when she came back she said, "follow me" and dropped us off right in front of the ball five minutes before midnight and said with a smile, "enjoy" before disappearing into the crowd. We were in front of the blockades so another cop quickly scurried us behind them to spot right upfront. It was sooo surreal and magial all at the same time!

Worst - was when my ex and I invited my daughters and a few of their friends to his place in the city so they could enjoy the fireworks at midnight, which happen to be a block from where he lived. He never wanted to just hang out with them to have fun (and they are tons of fun!!!), so we had to go some place different than them or get into a fight about it. Well, they left the club they were in so they could grab their coats for the fireworks and couldn't find us. They ended up standing outside freezing their tails off during the fireworks! I felt sooo bad and even though it was years ago, I still feel guilty about it! And needless to say, I never EVER allowed that to happen again! He was so difficult that way and I am so happy I'm not with him anymore. That was one of the many straws that broke the camels back.

When my kids were little, I spent many NYE's home with them and enjoyed every single one. I woud get a bunch of finger foods, sparkling cider (for them) and we would play games and then at midnight we would bang pots and pans in the middle of the street. It was fun. :)

Let me see .

One of the best New Years eve I had was when I went to a wedding in Las Vegas and then I decided to stay there for a few more weeks. Right in the middle of New Years Eve There were literally thousands and thousands of people in the streets and fireworks and lots of things going on...It was interesting and fun to say the least .

Another few fun ones were just recently over the years going to a club and dancing and drinking with friends and family...and ringing in the New Year.
