Would you advertise?

The karaoke place I go to on Thursdays is having a theme night this week. The color you wear is supposed to tell everyone if you're taken or single. I honestly don't think I could advertise that in such a public way! I'm planning on wearing blue or black- neither of them are choices for the theme! Would you advertise it?

I'd go along with it just for fun--if there happens to be a cute guy there, wouldn't you want him to know you were available?  You can't be that shy if you can get up & sing in front of people--at least that's what people tell me who can't believe that I will sing.  (We are having different themes for our usual Friday night dance practices to attract people to come in the summer & one night will be karaoke--I don't know how it will be because they won't have the huge number of songs that a bar would, so I hope they have songs that I know.)

I actually don't own anything in the "single" colors. I look horrible in yellow and never buy green. Yellow is supposed to mean "single but hard to get." I don't know...I kinda feel like I'd be advertising that I'm up for a hookup or something.

I was really nervous the first time I sang. I'm addicted to it now, though. It is difficult when you can't pick the song you want, though. My DJ just downloads stuff on the spot if people ask for it. That's the nice thing about being friends with him!

What's the color for "just looking"?  And the women who just came to have a good time and go home to their guy watching sports on TV wear?  A color that says Yes i'll dance with you but I am not going home with you.

I wouldn't advertise either. I'd wear a color I like. If someone's interested, he'd would have to ask. Leave something for the imagination.

I´d think it was fun and do it, but only if the colours flattered me... I do not wear yellow, for instance.

I would do it but that is just me..

Actually I have thought about having a shirt made up in where I could get it to say I am over 50 and single and looking and wear it. Not only would it attract attention but it might become popular.. and maybe get a date but again that is crazy me.

It wouldn't bother me at all to advertise that I was single, but I don't have anything yellow either.  It's not that different from cbecking whether people have wedding rings, I guess it's just more visible from a farther distance.  And of course, not everyone wears a wedding ring these days either.

Maybe wear a yellow scarf? You could always take it off.

That's the problem, 3x.  I'm not really there looking for a date (if it happens, I'm not opposed, but it's not why I'm there) so to me wearing their red/yellow/green would tell the crowd I AM looking (since I won't be wearing red).  I just feel like the men would be all over the women wearing green, and the women wearing yellow would attract the guys who like a challenge and then like to leave.

I honestly own NOTHING yellow.  I have one pair of green shoes, and I've worn them twice b/c I don't have anything to wear them with.  I think I'll stick with blue.  It's in the same family as green, so it'll make 'em wonder.  And maybe actually <gasp> ask.  Plus, I've been going long enough the regulars know I'm never with a guy.

I think if I absolutely knew for fact that someone else I knew was going to be bold and go for it, I would as well . . .

I just wouldn't want to be the "Bridget Jones" of the party (the only one who showed up in the Playboy bunny costume).
